As my first time attending a JobG8 conference, I was surprised and impressed at the quality of talent and leadership that turned up to brave the 90 degree heat in Atlanta this past June. The two day event was all about the job board world and jam packed with great content, and with provocative cajoling from the panel moderators this made for a fun and intensely worthwhile event not to be missed in the future!
There were so many great tips shared during the Jobg8 summit that it was hard to pick my favorites, but here I took a shot at sharing seven lessons captured on Twitter that offer some good advice:
The first lesson is about originality and how using it can set you apart and put you in your own category. (via Matt Charney)
The next lesson is about community and how important it is in the job board world. (per Ethan Bloomfield)
The third lesson is about how HR people are (or should be) in marketing. (per JobBoardDoctor via Blogging4Jobs)
The fourth lesson that I learned from the summit is that getting talent isn’t the only thing that you need to do when hiring. (Via Jessica Merrell)
The fifth lesson is that everyone wants to know what is going to happen in their future and that sometimes it is not that bright but you have to keep moving forward. (per JennyDevaughn via Ward Christman)
The sixth lesson is that the world of HR is ever evolving. (Via Matt Charney)
The last lesson that I learned is about the channels that I need to learn to control if I want to win in the HR world. (Via RecruitingBlogs)
Overall this event was very well run and was a huge value to all attendees. If you are in the job board business or job board ecosystem, don’t miss the next JobG8 when it comes to your area!
